About this event

This October, 20 organizations, including Oxfam in Bangladesh, hosted 'Road to Baku-COP29: Bangladesh CSOs at the Forefront of the Climate Resilience' at the Department of Environment where I have especially focused on a few demands on fostering Just Energy Transition in Bangladesh in the presence of honorable Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, reaffirmed the government's commitment to climate justice. Ø Demand a socially inclusive approach to phasing out fossil fuels and promoting Renewables. Ø Commitment from Global South to equitable Energy Transition fostering the Brand’s requirements and technology transfer. Ø International collaboration to ensure that national energy transition plans are aligned with the 1.5°C target. Ø Grant Base Renewable Energy Financing Ø Dedicated Funding for Transitioning Workers and Communities
