About this event

It was truly inspiring to meet Leslie Johnston, M.Sc., the CEO of the Laudes Foundation, during the inauguration of the Just Energy Transition (JET) Forum in Bangladesh. Her leadership and commitment to fostering sustainable and equitable economic transitions have driven systemic change. The event provided a valuable platform to connect with various stakeholders, united in the mission to accelerate JET initiatives. A highlight of the introduction of seven interlinked priorities designed to propel Bangladesh's apparel and construction sectors toward a low-carbon and climate-resilient future. 1. Climate change mitigation through transition to low-carbon manufacturing. 2. Climate change mitigation through increased uptake of sustainable and circular inputs. 3. Climate adaptation at site and manufacturing hub level. 4. Alternative sector development, skilling, and social protection to mitigate job losses. 5. Availability of adequate and affordable housing. 6. Development of innovative financing solutions. 7. Inclusion and agency of, and accountability to workers.
